Ever since we ran this granola recipe from Nekisia Davis of Early Bird Foods in our Girl Power Issue (#31), it has become a staple in my house. I make a new batch every single week for breakfast (with yogurt and fresh fruit). I've gifted batches to friends and family. I've even texted my friends the recipe. It is that good! And, it's super-easy to make. Here's the recipe from the issue:

STEP 1: Prep
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
STEP 2: Mix
Toss all the ingredients into one big bowl and stir them together until they’re all mixed up. Then, spread the mixture in an even layer on a rimmed baking sheet.
STEP 3: Bake
Pop the tray into the oven and bake, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes, for about 45 minutes total, or until the granola is toasted.
STEP 4: Season
Remove the granola from the oven and sprinkle on a little more salt, if you’d like. Nekisia prefers hers extra-salty! Let cool completely before serving.
The best part? Once you have the main ingredients down, you can customize it any way you want! I usually add coconut and sliced almonds before I bake it and dried cherries and chocolate chips after it comes out. You could spice it up with a teaspoon of cinnamon and a 1/2 teaspoon of ginger. Or you could add pretzel rods and M&Ms after it comes out to make it more like trail mix.
I've tried all sorts of combos, and I can attest, you really can't screw it up! Write to me at erin@kazoomagazine.com after you've tried it, and let me know how you made it. I'm always looking for new inspiration!
